Slovak Tourist Board (SACR) membership in international travel organisations
Membership in the international travel organisations plays a very important role in promotion of Slovakia abroad and strengthens its position at the international market of tourism. The main purpose of membership is the promotion and marketing of Slovakia as a travel destination abroad. Each of the organisations has its specifics focus on presentation and promotion of its member countries on certain territories.
At present, Slovakia is represented by the Slovak Tourist Board (SACR), a member of seven important international travel organisations: ETC, ASTA, CECTA, RDA, ICCA, PATA and Die Donau. SACR separately, or thanks to the network of its foreign representations, is active also in other international associations of a more local characters, which, however form an important part of promotion and presentation of Slovakia as a travel destination at the world market of tourism (such as V4, ANTOR, Corps Touristique, AČCKA).
Thanks to its membership in international travel organisations and an active approach, Slovakia represented by SACR has an opportunity to share their activities, gain valuable information concerning for example marketing analyses, statistical data and surveys of target markets. It has also access to member database, it can take part in general meetings, conferences, workshops and joint exhibition and presentation activities.
