Media campaigns are one of the bearing means of promotion of tourism of a country. Many countries, including Slovakia, use them for making their destination visible and attracting the interest to the most attractive travel products.
Within the promotion of Slovakia as a travel destination, SACR makes use of a media mix, comprising TV and radio campaigns, banners at internet portals, outdoor city lights campaigns and ads in magazines and newspapers. Media campaigns are focused either on the support of home tourism or active tourism abroad. As a rule, media campaigns of SACR take place before the beginning of summer and winter season in order to motivate home or foreign tourists to spend holidays in Slovakia.
