SACR Visualised the Project Košice – the 2013 European Capital of Culture in Budapest

Bratislava, 7 November 2011. The year 2013, when Košice will become the European Capital of Culture is coming soon. The project was visualised in Budapest by the Hungarian representation of the Slovak Tourist Board (SACR). On 3 November, a press conference was organised where the representative of non-profit organisation Košice – the 2013 European Capital of Culture introduced the project news to journalists.
The year 2011 in Košice was marked by the memory of Sándor Márai, prominent Hungarian writer born in Košice. This joint Slovak – Hungarian project entitled “In the track of Sándor Márai" is one of the bearing products attracting Hungarian visitors to Košice.
Ján Sudzina, the manager of Košice – the 2013 European Capital of Culture, informed the journalists of further plans in the field of culture as well as of the infrastructure finishing. The biggest investments, waiting for Košice, include reconstruction of the Casern, swimming pools, exterior of St. Elisabeth Cathedral, East Slovakian Museum, but also the Hungarian Thália theatre.
