Dutch TV EO Shoots “Rail Away” in Slovakia

Bratislava, 9 November 2011. The staff of Dutch TV EO shot the “Rail Away” broadcast in Slovakia. It has been one of the most popular broadcasts in the Netherlands for 15 years. Natural attractions and history of European countries shot from the window of a train regularly attracts about 750 000 viewers.

The Slovak Tourist Board (SACR) organised the info-trip for TV staff from 10 to 19 October, resulting in a documentary about the extraordinary skirts of the railroad from Žilina to Tatranská Lomnica. The broadcast introduces to viewers the city of Žilina, interesting places skirting the railroad from Žilina to Vysoké Tatry, unique cog-rail from Štrba to Štrbské Pleso, as well as the beauties of the National Park Vysoké Tatry. 

The TV staff was impressed by their stay in Slovakia. They were even interested to show also other extraordinary railroads and attractive regions of Slovakia to their viewers.
